Program Description

Have you always wanted to travel to Germany? Wanted to explore the history and culture of its capital city Berlin? Now is your chance to spend spring break 2015 exploring Berlin!

This program is linked to an exciting new course, in which you will approach Germany's capital through its historical and cultural importance to the German people and the world at large. Through the reading and discussion of literary works produced in and about Berlin, as well through film, we will visit Berlin and make stops at such important historical periods as the Kaiserreich (Imperial Germany), the Weimar Republic, the Nazi-Regime, Post WW-II and especially the fall of the Berlin Wall. This class will be taught in English and is open to all majors.

If you choose to enroll in GRXXX Berlin: History, Culture, Literature, it is approved to count as a 4 credit class which can be counted toward a German Studies major or minor or an elective.

The program to Berlin will depart on Friday, February 25 and return on Sunday, March 7, 2015. If you plan to enroll in the course linked to the international program it will meet throughout the spring semester on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11:30am-12:20pm.
